Decoration process

At Glasdec, we provide a single colour screen print utilising specialised ink that offers excellent durability in a commercial setting. Our team screen print each of your glasses by hand, providing high quality assurance and minimal breakages during production.

ARTWORK PREPARATION:

  • Once you have selected or provided your chosen glassware, we require:
    • a high-resolution file of your logo (ai, psd or pdf)
    • ink colour
    • desired pour guide

For best results, please review our ARTWORK GUIDELINES.

  • Logo is sized and positioned by our team to meet your requirements and an artwork proof created.
  • Once artwork proof is approved by the client, a screen is created.

SET-UP OF POUR LEVEL FOR PRINTING:

  • A selection of glasses from the batch of glassware to be printed are individually placed on an electronic scale and zeroed.
  • Water is added in grams to the desired amount (1 gram = 1millilitre).
  • Pour line is marked on the glass at the bottom of the meniscus.
  • Measurement of the sample glasses pour position is taken and the results averaged.
  • Set up of the printing arm is positioned from this average.
  • First glass is printed.
  • Print is checked for any inconsistencies and glass is placed on scale to check pour guide placement is accurate.

PRINTING & FIRING

  • With set-up complete, each glass is printed by hand by our screen-printers.
  • Printed glassware is stacked and prepared for firing on Monday and Wednesday.
  • Glassware is fired in a temperature controlled lehr oven to cure the ink.
  • Once fired, glassware is returned to their cartons and are ready for collection or delivery.
